We are happy to announce JCNC is organizing an exciting hike at Mission Peak, Fremont on Saturday May 4, 2013 Yatras involving hike to hills and mountains has been an important aspect of Jain tradition whether at Palitana, Sametshikharji or Girnar. This is an opportunity to explore and enjoy nature, and experience the hike with fellow JCNC community members. Click here to sign-up for JCNC Mission-Peak Hike Check-In Time: 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM on Saturday May 4, 2013 What To Bring, What to Wear: · A small back pack with adequate supply of water/juice. · JCNC will provide a small healthy snack to carry on the trail (cereal bars/fruit/nuts) · Sturdy hiking shoes or tennis shoes (no sandals, flip-flops) · Comfortable clothing with layers and/or light jacket or sweat shirt · Cap, hat, sun-glasses, sun-screen This hike with loose gravel, dirt trail and slopes may be strenuous for some. JCNC, or any of JCNC volunteers are not responsible for any loss of item or any injury while hiking. Address and Parking: Address: Mission Peak Park, East end of Stanford Avenue, off Mission Blvd, Fremont, CA Parking: Parking on Stanford Avenue is limited and we recommend car-pooling. Depending on headcount, JCNC may arrange a shuttle from the alternate parking lot at Ohlone college, 43600 Mission Blvd., Fremont, CA 94539 where more parking is available with $2 parking fee. Brunch: On our way back we will be having brunch at Mrs. Sandhya and Mr. Prem Jain’s home, which is very close to Mission Peak– Stanford Avenue entrance.
