Acharya Shri Chandanaji

Acharya Shri Chandanaji possesses the rare combination of patience found in decades of contemplation and a vision of the greater good. She chose the path of Mahavir and took Diksha to diligently accomplish far more than a religious mandate. She has empowered and touched the lives of countless needy people through education, health, and justice with complete loyalty and dedication. But this task would not have been possible without the unyielding support of a team of Sadhvis, who are self-realized, positive, and empathetic towards making a difference to mankind. ‘Acharya Shri’ Post given by Pujya Rashtrasant Amar Muniji in 1987 and she is the first ever Jain Sadhvi to receive the prestigious title of “Acharya” in the Jain ascetic community since the time of Lord Mahaveer (2600 years). She accepted it as a respect for all women. (Please see more details in the attachment)

The Veerayatan principle mission of Seva (help other human beings and animals), Siksha (Educate other human beings), and Sadhana (along with Seva, and Siksha continue your spiritual progress) is very conducive to uplift the morality and spirituality of our children born and raised in North America.

Sadhvi Shri Sanghmitraji

Sadhvi Sanghamitraji, prior known as Mangalam, is associated with Veerayatan Jain Temple, Bihar, India, since her childhood. At the young age of 6 years, she memorized Bhaktamar, Kalyan Mandir and Tatwartha Sutra and many other Jain Stotras. She has learned Sanskrit and Prakrit along with other Jain scriptures. She is blessed with an enchanting melodious voice which has mesmerized and touched the hearts of thousands of people around the world.

She lived in the US for many years before she took Diksha. She has translated the spiritual and social welfare messages of Acharya Shriji into melodious songs and conveyed them to people around the world. She is now efficiently handling Veerayatan Global.

Sadhvi Sanghamitraji is deeply involved in many initiatives at Veerayatan. She has started Veerayatan Global to spread the message of the work of Veerayatan worldwide and act as a conduit to share achievements and best practices. She is also actively involved in the Veerayatan Schools Project to build schools at all Jain pilgrimage sites which inculcate moral values in children, including most recently at Palitana which the foremost Jain site for pilgrims.

Sadhvi Sanghamitraji’s Badi Diksha took place at our center - the Jain Center of Northern California (JCNC), Milpitas, California on April 8, 2012.  Badi Diksha celebration video is available at http://www.jcnc.org/home/news/dikshavideolinks (please see more details in the attachment)
