On the occasion of celebrating Bhagwan
Mahavir 2616 Janma Kalyanak, we are really excited to announce a new
program ‘The
US Presidents Volunteer Service Awards’ (PVSA) for JCNC youth age
14 to 19.
JCNC
has now partnered-up with Corporation for National Community to Service Award
for our deserving young volunteers.
The aim of the program is to promote Jain principals, the program is
designed to prepare our next generation leadership in such a way that they
will be inspired to participate in
leading volunteer activities at JCNC. In return, they will be awarded with
volunteer service credits and the PVSA certificate signed by the President of
United States.
Rules
& Eligibility Criteria - Open to all JCNC member families. We encourage you to review
the eligibility criteria before you apply (link at the bottom).
- Children between 14 -19 years of age as of 1st Mar
2017 are qualified.
- Registration is now open for the calendar year from Mar 2017 –
Feb 2018, this is a yearly program. Last
date to enroll May 15th, 2017.
- Awards will be presented in Apr/May 2018 during major JCNC
events for all successful participants in Mar 2017 – Feb 2018 batch.

below, depicts the Age group Vs. the Number of volunteer hours required for
each of these three levels.

* Age will be
considered as of March 1, 2017.
** Participants serving less than 50 hours in Age 14 & 15 category and less than 100 hours in Age 16 to 19
category will not qualify for certification & award. These are the
key requirements of the program.
We will arrange for a follow-up meeting with the entire
group participating in this program in May to go thru with much more detail,
including work assignments, the roles and responsibilities, method of
reporting and validation of service hours, etc.
JCNC Youth Service Awards Steering Committee will oversee
operations & integrity of this program.
Members of this committee are: Sunil
G. Mehta (Chair, Co-VP Technology), Kiran
Shah (Co-chair, VP PR),
Yogesh Bapna (President). A
working committee of volunteers is being formed and will include the above
members and multiple youth volunteers. The email address to this committee
